Dear Editor,
I felt totally ashamed to be Guyanese
when I read of the drug bust in
Barbados involving several Guyanese (SN
4/12/05). We as a people
can no longer be annoyed with the
Bajans when they reject us at their
ports of entry. Our leaders should
stop complaining to Caricom about
Bajan authorities bashing Guyanese
until we can control our own borders
and contain /eliminate drug lords.
As a people we must pay for our deeds.
The Bajan government must now move to
protect its country against the
Guyanese scourge. Yes I do believe
that Peter must pay for Paul, i.e.
until we as a people can operate as
decent law abiding people.
No doubt we are viewed by the rest of
our Caricom brothers as a nation of
criminals. We have a very long way to
go towards becoming a group of right
thinking human beings.
Yours faithfully,
